We are big fans of Atlanta's own Stone Mountain Park. It's such a great destination for families year round. But November & December are my favorite months to visit ~ Stone Mountain Christmas & Snow Mountain are so much fun! There are over two million lights, holiday music & you may see Santa & Mrs. Claus, the Snow Angel, along with Rudolph & the Bumble, the Abominable Snow Monster!
When we visited Stone Mountain Christmas, we began with a scrumptious dinner in The Campfire Grill, where we met Rudolph, & enjoyed a group of carolers!
Then we made our way to the Polar Express 4-D Experience. This year our friends Michelle & Serenity went with us. It was a little intense for Serenity, who is just 3. But older kids will love it - you may get a little wet, find snowflakes on your shoulder and feel the wind rushing past.....it's a really wonderful 20 minute program!
Make sure you find a good spot to catch the nightly Crossroads Christmas Parade. It starts promptly at 6 pm. You will see Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive, plus the beautiful Snow Angel & all the performers! It is fun to watch!
The cookie decorating activity in Memorial Hall is always a big hit with David, and Serenity loved it too! Sugar cookies, frosting, gummie bears and other candy toppings - how could you NOT have fun? This is also where you will find the Snow Angel and her Tin Soldiers for a meet and greet time and pictures!
The Sing-Along Train is a blast every time we ride! It's a 40 minute trip around the mountain. A couple of silly elves will entertain you on the monitors, plus display the lyrics to all the wonderful Christmas songs you'll sing as you enjoy the lights and sights on your ride. At one memorable stop, you'll see and hear the Christmas story, in a precious presentation called The Gift.
The shows that Stone Mountain Christmas offers are wonderful and family-friendly. There are several to choose from and all are fun!! From the Holly Jolly Cabaret to Toyrific!, there is something for everyone to enjoy! Check out the complete lineup here!
Make sure to visit with Santa, then finish your night watching the beautiful Snow Angel Fireworks Finale!
Every member of your family will find something they love here at Stone Mountain Christmas! The fun lasts selected nights through January 1st. (Check the website to be sure they will be open) It's a wonderful tradition that you'll truly enjoy!
Follow Stone Mountain Park on FB & Twitter to find out the latest news and events.
If you love Serenity's Christmas outfit, make sure to like her mom's FB page - she makes DARLING children's clothes for all occasions!
